Frequently Asked Questions
The Apis Bull at the heart of our sacred oil-making is not just a working animal. It is a revered member of the family, honored with love, care, and spiritual respect.
For at least 7 generations on record, the same lineage of bulls has powered the family’s 1,400 pound granite press that cold-extracts our sacred oils. Each bull is chosen with care, guided by lineage, health, temperament, and energetic presence. The family understands its role is sacred, not mechanical.
The Apis works gently, only 6 to 12 hours per week. It never works on back to back days. After a day of service, it always receives at least one full day of rest. It is well fed, spoken to, brushed, and blessed. The family treats it like kin.
When an Apis passes, it receives a proper funeral. Prayers, offerings, and earth honoring rites return the bull to the land with reverence. A successor is never selected lightly. Signs, lineage continuity, and energetic resonance guide the choice.
This is not labor; this is legacy. The Apis Bull is a living symbol of patience, devotion, and divine embodiment, and we carry that sacred energy in every bottle.
Sahu Sacred Oils and essential oils serve different purposes and have distinct methods of production.
Sahu Sacred Oils: These oils are crafted using an ancient alchemical tradition that combines carrier oils with natural plant essences to bring out the full spiritual and therapeutic properties of the plants. This method is rooted in centuries-old Egyptian practices and is designed for spiritual rituals, holistic healing, and enhancing meditation.
Essential Oils: These are pure plant extracts obtained through modern distillation or cold pressing methods. Essential oils are primarily used in aromatherapy and therapeutic applications for their concentrated properties.
In essence, Sahu Sacred Oils integrate a blend of oils to create a sacred, alchemical product, whereas essential oils are single, pure plant extracts focused on physical and emotional well-being.
The reduced price of our 10mL roll-on versions compared to their pure counterparts is primarily due to the difference in concentration of sacred essence oil content. Our roll-on blends incorporate a combination of carrier oils, such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, and moringa oil, along with a smaller amount of pure sacred oil. This dilution allows us to offer a more cost-effective option while still providing the benefits of the essential oil. For example, in the case of our Red Rose oil, which is particularly expensive due to its scarcity and labor-intensive extraction process, we offer a 10ml roll-on at a lower price point compared to a 5ml pure sacred oil bottle, as the roll-on contains a higher proportion of carrier oils to essential oil. Rest assured, our roll-on blends maintain the quality and effectiveness of the pure ritual oils while offering a more affordable option for our customers.
Cold-pressed oils are extracted from botanical materials using a process called cold-pressing, which involves mechanical pressure without the use of heat or chemicals. This gentle extraction method preserves the natural aromatic compounds present in the plant material, resulting in oils that retain a fresher and more subtle aroma. While some may perceive this aroma as less intense compared to oils produced using synthetic chemicals or heat/steam distillation methods, it's essential to understand that the strength of an essential oil isn't solely determined by its scent intensity.
Sahu oils are versatile and can be used both aromatically and topically. They are safe for direct application to the skin when properly diluted with a carrier oil. However, we always recommend performing a patch test before using any oil on larger areas of the skin to ensure compatibility and prevent allergic reactions.
There are numerous ways to incorporate Sahu oils into your daily wellness routine. You can add a few drops to your bath for a relaxing soak, diffuse them in your home or office to create a calming atmosphere, or apply them topically to pulse points for a natural perfume. You can also mix them with carrier oils to create custom massage blends or add them to homemade skincare products for added benefits.
While many essential oils are generally safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it’s essential to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before using any essential oils, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some oils may have contraindications or sensitivities during these times, so it’s crucial to err on the side of caution and seek professional guidance.
Sahu oils are sourced from high-quality botanical materials and produced using traditional methods without the use of synthetic chemicals or pesticides. While they may not be certified organic, we prioritize sustainability, ethical sourcing, and natural extraction methods to ensure the purity and quality of our oils.
While some oils are safe for internal use and culinary applications, we recommend using Sahu Sacred Oils primarily for aromatherapy and topical use. Oils are highly concentrated and potent, so it’s essential to use caution and follow specific guidelines when using them in cooking or adding them to food and beverages.
We offer both 5mL and 10mL sizes to provide flexibility and value to our customers. After benchmarking against popular essential oil brands, we aimed to keep our prices between $50 and $200. Some of our rare oils, if offered in a 10mL size, would significantly increase in price, making them less accessible. By offering a 5mL option, we can ensure that these precious oils remain within reach while maintaining the highest quality standards. The 10mL size is perfect for those who use our oils more frequently and want to invest in a larger quantity.
